Diabetic Profile

The Diabetic Profile is crucial for detecting and monitoring diabetes and its complications. It assesses blood sugar levels (Fasting Sugar & HbA1c), kidney function (Urea, Creatinine, eGFR, UACR), and overall health (CBC).

Normal Ranges (approx.):

We deliver diagnostic testing you can trust—built on accuracy, scientific rigor, and quality assurance. Our advanced laboratory technologies, validated testing methods.

  • - Fasting Blood Sugar: 70–99 mg/dL
  • - HbA1c: <5.7% (Non-diabetic), ≤7% (Diabetics)
  • - eGFR: ≥90 mL/min
  • - UACR: <30 mg/g
  • - Serum Creatinine: 0.6–1.2 mg/dL

Regular testing helps prevent heart, kidney, eye, and nerve damage. Recommended every 3 months for people with diabetes and annually for screening.

Interpretation Table for Fasting Blood Sugar (Diagnosis Criteria):

Fasting Plasma Glucose (mg/dl) 2hr plasma Glucose (mg/dl) Diagnosis
99 or below 139 or below Normal
100 to 125 140 to 199 Pre-Diabetes (IGT)
126 or above 200 or above Diabetes

Note: A diagnosis of Diabetes or Prediabetes should be confirmed by repeating the test on a different day.

Blood Glucose Goals (for people with Diabetes):

  • - Before meal: 70 – 130 mg/dL
  • - 2 Hours after meal: Less than 180 mg/dL
  • - HbA1c Target: Less than 7%

HbA1c Interpretation (Glycemic Control):

  • - 4% – 6% → Normal (Non-diabetic)
  • - 6% – 7% → Well controlled diabetes
  • - 7% – 8% → Unsatisfactory control
  • - Above 8% → Poor control (requires medical attention)

HbA1c reflects your average blood glucose over the past 2–3 months.

It is the best indicator of long-term glycemic control (better than single-day glucose readings).
